**************************************Scroll Down**************************************** Hello TAB Members and Teen Volunteers! How did the first week back in school go for everyone? Not TOO traumatic, I hope. Thanks to all of you that came to the Anime in April event this past week. We had 31 people total watching Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. We also threw in an episode of Chrono Crusade at the end of the event. Be sure to check out the schedule below for newly added events. The next TAB meeting is THIS Tuesday, 4/22, from 6:30-7:30pm. We will be talking about Anti-Prom and what you all want to do with it. This will be your LAST chance to submit your logo drawings for voting. You voted on a puffin as the main logo for TAB, but you can draw something incorporating that in any (moderately tasteful at least) way you like. The slogan you voted on, from among 15 or so, we "If you don't like me, you can kiss my.... puffin." So, figure out a good logo design to go with. The winning design will be turned into our TAB logo poster, plus become part of the TAB t-shirts in the near future. Sounds like a good chance for a real artist credit, huh? Finally, start thinking about Anti-Prom, if you missed reading about it above. It's coming up soon on May 9th and it's up to you all to make the event what you want it to be. Land O Lakes Library Teen Event Schedule - Volunteers are always needed for setup, cleanup, and to run the event! **The Next Teen Advisory Board meeting is NEXT Tuesday, April 22, from 6:30-7:30pm. We will be talking about the TAB logo, voting on the TAB slogan, discussing t-shirts, and picking the movies for the movie marathon in April. Remember, you get 1 hour of volunteer credit for every TAB meeting you attend. **Friday, April 18, 6:00-9:00pm - 16+ Video Game Tournament & Game Night - Adults and teens ages 16 and over are invited to our gaming tournament and game night especially for the older gamer crowd. We will have M-rated games we do not normally offer (or that usually require parental ok) such as Halo, God of War, and more. Feel free to bring your own games, systems, and controllers as well. Free snacks and drinks! **Saturday, April 26, 2:00-4:00pm - All Ages Steel Drum Concert - Jam Music will be presenting a Caribbean concert featuring steel drum music from the islands. They will have a hands-on event afterwards where you can learn to play a steel drum (or just make noise in the library). **Tuesday, April 29, 6:30-8:30pm - Tween Movie Night featuring Bratz! The Movie - Whenever we have 5 Tuesdays in a month, we gear the 5th one towards a special event. Tween movie night is geared towards those who are not quite ready for teen nights or who still like some younger stuff (or maybe this is a good time to bring a younger sibling?). Everyone ages 9-13 is invited to watch the movie and enjoy the free popcorn, snacks, and soda. **Tuesday, May 6, 6:00-8:00pm - Land O Lakes Teen Anime & Manga Club - Otherwise known as LOLJAM (Land O Lakes Japanese Anime & Manga). Wear whatever you want. Don't bring a date. Eat junk food. Dance how you want to the music YOU want to hear as played by our professional DJ (no lame slow songs here!). Plus, you can save on the limo rental. **Monday, May 12, 3:00pm - Teen Lock-in Signup - This is the first day to sign up for the Teen Lock-in, which will be held on June 6 at 8:00pm until June 7 at 8:00am. It will be an 8 vs. 8 team match for the honor of the Land O Lakes Library as we compete against Hudson Library for bragging rights. We will have 2 Xbox 360s at each library location and there will be several special matches throughout the night apart from the 8-on-8 tournament. Players will receive prizes if they can take Land O Lakes to victory over the nefarious Hudson Library team. We will have many colors of dye and lots of patters, or you can make up your own. This is an outdoor event, but wear something you don't mind getting wet or color stained. There will be a limited number of free white t-shirts available on a first-come, first-served basis if you can't bring your own. Free snacks and drinks! **Tuesday, May 27, All Day - Teen Summer Reading Club Signup Begins - This is the first day to sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Club. Signup goes all summer long. Pledge to read 6 books (any books you want!) during June and July. Get a prize for signing up, a prize for every book you read, and a prize for finishing all 6 books. All you have to do is write up a short summary of the book with the title and author and submit it online, read it to us on the phone, or come in person at the library. Everyone who finishes all their books by the end of July will be entered in a special drawing. Last year's prize was an 80GB Video iPod, for example, plus this year we have a special extra prize of Volumes 1-14 of the Naruto manga in addition to the main drawing. Also (as if that wasn't enough) everyone who finishes their books gets invited to a party and an overnight lock-in at the end of the summer, with free pizza, ice cream, video gaming, and more. All this is in addition to the weekly events all summer long that you can attend whether you read the books or not. **Tuesday, June 3, 6:00-8:00pm - Land O Lakes Teen Anime & Manga Club - Otherwise known as LOLJAM (Land O Lakes Japanese Anime & Manga).
