Taylor Adcock 6th grade, Rand Willette 6th grade and Alex Fulford. The students won an essay contest sponsored by the Land O’Lakes Moose Lodge about the dangers of taking drugs and how they can ruin lives.
Why I Shouldn’t do Drugs
Hello, I’m here to tell you why you should not do drugs.
One of the best reasons never to do drugs, is it may lead to an early death. One of the worst things to know about early death from drugs, is that it could have been prevented. Another excellent reason never to do drugs is if you die, you will never be able to experience the rest of life! You won’t be able to enjoy the new inventions that may come such as, hover cars, space travel, and time machines.
But, if you don’t die, you may harm other people! There are so many ways to harm others. Sometimes, if you’re high, you may shoot someone, and never notice you did it! But, you don’t have to shoot to kill. If you’re high on crack, or any other drug, you may try to kill someone with a knife, or your own hands!
Sometimes, you may get a serious illness from drugs. You may get cancer. Believe me, you don’t want to get cancer. You will die a slow, painful death.
Let’s say you don’t get cancer. You will start to do poorly in school. Drugs kill brain cells! This is no joke. Another slow, painful death is pneumonia. Pneumonia is when your lungs fill up with water and you can’t breathe. That is something else that happens from drugs.
Since I don’t want to experience an early death, or violence, I will never do drugs. ___ ___ALEX FULFORD
Standing behind the students in an effort to fight drugs are Larry Adcock, Renee Adcock, John Asay, Moose Administrator, Eliza Willette, CPL J. Peteck SRO of Pine View Middle School, Kim Anderson, Principal of Pine View Middle School, Suzanne Fulford, Kevin Fulford, (sitting)
